Caravan & Motorhome
Keep Your Caravan or Motorhome Where You Left It
A caravan or motorhome spends most of the year parked – on a driveway, at a storage site, or on a seasonal pitch – and that is when it is most vulnerable. Our caravan and motorhome security range covers the three points a thief goes for: the wheels, the hitch, and the ground it stands on.
Start with a wheel clamp sized to your rims, add a hitch lock so the van cannot be towed, and fit a removable security post where it is stored. We stock Bulldog, SAS, RAM and Fullstop Security, including Titan and Centaur wheel clamps, a full range of hitchlocks, and telescopic driveway posts in galvanised, powder-coated and stainless steel finishes.
Sizing matters more than price on a wheel clamp – one that does not fit the rim is no clamp at all. Our wheel clamp sizing guide walks through measuring up, and our caravan security guide covers the rest.

Does a motorhome need different security from a caravan?
Largely, yes. A motorhome has no hitch, so the priority moves to a wheel clamp and a steering wheel lock. A caravan needs the hitch covered as well, because it can be coupled to another vehicle and taken away in seconds.
What will a storage site expect me to have fitted?
It varies by site, and it is worth asking before you book. Many graded storage sites ask for a wheel clamp or hitch lock as a condition of entry, and some specify a type.
Can I fit a security post on my own driveway?
Yes, though the fixing depends on the surface. Bolt-down posts suit concrete; tarmac and block paving usually need a different fixing, and some posts take an adaptor for exactly that. Tell us what you are fixing into and we will point you at the right one from our security posts range.
Is it worth leaving security fitted over winter?
Yes. A van standing unused for months is exposed for far longer than one in regular use, and that is when it is least likely to be checked on. Leave the clamp and hitch lock fitted, and keep the lock barrels lubricated so they still turn in the spring.
If I only fit one thing, what should it be?
A wheel clamp, in most cases. A thief has to move the van before anything else, and a clamp stops it rolling whether or not it is hitched. A hitch lock is the natural second, because together they close both routes out: towing away, and rolling away.
How do I measure my caravan for a wheel clamp?
You need the tyre width and the rim diameter, both printed on the tyre sidewall – something like 185/70 R13. Clamps are sized to those figures rather than to the van, so two caravans of the same make can need different clamps. Our wheel clamp sizing guide walks through measuring up.
