The SAS Extension Tubes fit the HD range of wheel clamps and work specifically on steel wheels with dished rims. Often, wide tyres have rims placed centrally within the tyre. Consequently, the standard SAS clamp’s wheel bolt cover tube cannot reach the rim over the nut and instead floats in front of it.
As a result, many ask, “Why won’t my SAS wheel clamp fit my wheel?” The extension tube solves this problem by covering the gap inside the wheel. Therefore, it allows the clamp to reach over the wheel bolt and tighten securely.
Please note that this extension tube does not fit HD3 or HD3L models. Additionally, you must remove the black plastic cap on HD1 and HD2 clamps before fitting the extension tube. This step ensures a proper fit and maintains the clamp’s security.
